Should I consider alternative remedies?

Several alternative remedies exist for women to try. Keep in mind, at this time, it is not known if herbs or other "natural" products are helpful or safe for the treatment of menopausal symptoms.

Studies are being done to learn about the benefits and risks of alternative therapies and natural remedies. So be sure to talk to your health care professional before trying natural remedies.

Some women have tried herbs, vitamins and other nutrients such as: Black cohosh, Soy, Wild yams. None of these have been proven safe or effective, so talk to your doctor before taking them.
